Print Jhatpat

Setup guide

From sign-up to your first print takes about 15 minutes. You need a computer connected to your printer, an internet connection and your phone.

1Create your shop

  1. Open Start free trial. Choose Create shop.
  2. Type your shop name, your email and a password of 8 or more characters.
  3. Set your price per page for black and white and for colour. You can change these any time.
  4. You now have a 7-day free trial with every feature. No payment is needed.
Copy your setup code now. The dashboard shows it once, right after you register. You need it in step 3. If you lose it, press New setup code in the dashboard.

2Download the program

The program runs on the computer that is connected to your printer. It collects paid print jobs from the internet and sends them to the printer. It only makes outgoing connections, so you do not change your router or your printer.

  • Windows 10 or 11: the installer (recommended).
  • Mac or Linux: a small Node.js program. You need Node.js 20 or newer (free).

3Install and connect

Windows

  1. Run PrintJhatpat-Setup.exe. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info then Run anyway. This appears because the program is new and not yet widely downloaded.
  2. When the settings page opens in your browser, paste your setup code into the Setup code box.
  3. Click Install now in the PDF printing component box. This installs the free tool that prints silently. It needs the internet once.
  4. Under Choose your printers pick your black and white printer and, if you have one, your colour printer.
  5. Click Save and connect. It should say it is connected to your shop.
  6. Click Print test page (B&W). Check that a page comes out of the printer. Do the same for colour.

The program starts with Windows. You do not need to open it again unless you want to change something.

Mac or Linux

  1. Install Node.js 20 or newer from nodejs.org.
  2. Unzip printjhatpat-agent-node.zip into a folder, for example in Documents.
  3. Open Terminal in that folder and run (use your own setup code):
    node agent.mjs --setup "PH1.paste-your-code-here"
  4. Start it:
    node agent.mjs
Leave this window open while the shop is open.
  5. To see your printer names run lpstat -p -d in Terminal. You can add the printers in the dashboard in the next step.
In your dashboard, the top of the page shows Shop PC connected in green when everything works.

4Add your printers

If you have only one printer you can skip this: everything prints on the computer's default printer, one side of the paper.

  1. In your dashboard open Printers. The list Printer on this computer shows the printers the program found. If it is empty, wait a few minutes or choose Other and type the name.
  2. Give each printer a name customers will see, for example Laser B&W or Colour Epson.
  3. Tick Prints colour for colour printers.
  4. Tick Prints both sides only if the printer has automatic double-sided printing. Customers then get the both-sides option for that printer.

Customers choose a printer and can see when it is busy. If a printer is busy they can wait or move their print to a free printer. You can also move a waiting job to another printer yourself.

5Add your payment QR codes

  1. Take a screenshot of the QR from your eSewa, Khalti, FonePay or bank app.
  2. In the dashboard open Payment QR codes, type a name such as eSewa, choose the picture and click Add QR. You can add up to 4.
  3. Customers who choose to pay by QR see your QR and the exact amount. The money goes straight to your account.
A QR code cannot confirm a payment by itself. When a customer taps I have paid, check your wallet, then tap Payment received. Printing starts only after you confirm. For cash, tap Cash received.

6Print your counter poster and test it

  1. In the dashboard click Open counter poster (PDF) and print it. Stick it on your counter, window or door.
  2. Scan the poster with your own phone. Upload a PDF, pay cash, and confirm it in the dashboard.
  3. The file should print. Check the paper, then you are ready for customers.
Try Word, Excel, a photo, 2 pages per sheet and both sides too. The preview button shows exactly what will print.

7Daily use

  • Keep the shop computer and the program running while you are open.
  • Watch the dashboard on the shop computer or your phone. New prints appear by themselves.
  • Tap Cash received or Payment received to release a print. Not received sends the customer back to pay.
  • The Earnings box shows today's total and the last 7 days, split into cash and QR.
  • If a print fails after payment, it shows in red. Check the printer and ask the customer to send the file again, or refund them.

8Get the full version

When your free trial is ending, your dashboard shows how many days are left. To keep using Print Jhatpat:

  1. Sign in to your dashboard and open Full version.
  2. Choose Monthly, Yearly or Lifetime and click Get the full version.
  3. Our bank and wallet QR codes appear, with the exact amount and your payment reference. They are shown only after you choose a plan.
  4. Pay from your own app, type the transaction ID and tap I have paid.
  5. We check the payment and switch your full version on, usually within a few hours. Your days are added to what you have left.
